Tacloban City, Leyte – The Leyte Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals will once again be celebrated this June 2025. The announcement was made by Palo, Leyte Mayor Remedios “Matin” L. Petilla, who is serving as the Executive Committee Chairperson for this year’s festivities.

The news came during the first executive and working committees meeting held on March 31, 2025, at the Palo Municipal Hall. The meeting marked the beginning of the festival’s preparations, with various committees being assigned responsibilities for the event, which is set for June 27, 2025, in Tacloban City.

Mayor Petilla shared that the festival, which has been running for 26 years, will again showcase the different festivals from all across Leyte province. 

“The Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals is an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our province, and we are thrilled to bring it back this year,” she said.

The mayor also revealed that she had already been in talks with the local chief executives of the 40 municipalities in Leyte, encouraging them to participate in this year’s event. Although Petilla initially hesitated to chair the festival, she expressed her commitment to ensuring the smooth execution of the event, especially as it coincides with the annual fiesta in honor of Senor Sto. Nino de Leyte on June 29 and 30.

While the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals has traditionally been celebrated with vibrant street parades in Tacloban, featuring colorful dances and chants from various contingents across Leyte and the region, this year’s event will be held at the Leyte Sports Development Center. 

Organizers decided to move the festivities to this centralized venue to provide a more structured and controlled environment for the celebration.

The Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals, which made its return in 2024 after the pandemic, remains one of the highlights of Tacloban City’s annual fiesta. With the 2025 edition just around the corner, the festival promises to be a grand celebration of the province’s cultural diversity and community spirit.

The Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals has since become one of the most important cultural events in Leyte. The festival brings together the different festivals of the province, each with its own unique traditions, dances, and celebrations. I

It was initially created to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Leyte and to strengthen the bond between its municipalities. Over the years, it has grown in scale, attracting thousands of visitors and participants.
